Project Description:
SPEC provided process analysis and engineering to identify and remove the cause of asphaltene precipitation in injection water. To implement the recommended solution, SPEC provided engineering and design services for a new condensate receiving and dehydration facility, and changed the handling of condensate within the facility. Injection water quality was being degraded by asphaltene precipitation due to the mixing of condensate with the crude oil. Dry condensate is now mixed with dehydrated crude, thus eliminating the degradation of water quality. The condensate facility is currently operating at capacities above the original design basis.
