Project Description:
SPEC provided concept development and engineering and design for this 95 car ethanol rail offloading facility in Carson, California. The project included a 1,000 foot long canopy where 32 railcars can be offloaded simultaneously, and incorporates emergency spill containment, a sewer connection, electrical systems, fire protection, a control building and interconnection piping. SPEC work on a related project provided for the direct shipment of the offloaded ethanol to a remote storage facility via a new pump station and existing 3-mile long pipeline.
